Ive tried all possibilites with different times and days checked but it still doesn't turn off.
I dont want to turn the complete router off just the wifi as i would still like use of the Pc if i needed too.
Also by setting the time then i can go to bed or out etc knowing it will automatically turn off in my absence as no one uses the Pc but me.
This is clearly a function as the options are there on this router but getting it working is proving difficult.
Again, you only need one row of boxes checked and set your time from 00:01 to 07:59. If Wifi does not shut off, I would not put much stress in it, since it is more for those settings like Internet Cafes, schools and even homes where you want to restrict the ability to get online at certain times.

    Do you mean like this?

I set up a test for just now to turn off for 5 mins, set just todays row, but nothing happens.

Its frustrating to know the option to set auto shutdown is there but i cant get it to work.

    Hi there

    @gbu

How about a simple low tech solution

simply put a timer switch on the socket and plug the router in to that -- some of these cheap timer switches can have up to 5 on / off settings per 24 hrs.

No power, No router, No connection.

    Job done --simple easy !!!!

OK the whole router shuts down but I'm assuming you don't connect anything via Ethernet.

    Cheers

Just out of interest have you as an experiment tried to set the times and check boxes exactly as shown by the picture in the manual, and do the times stay as input when you log yourself out of the router and log back in?

No, LIne 1 boxes have to be checked for the time that you want the program to run. Otherwise it will not run when you do not specify in lines 2-4 what times you Thursday program to run.

It will not work, because there is no time specified in lines 2-4. The program will not run for line 1, because the Firmware sees an error with lines 2-4, with no start and stop time specified.

@jimbo45 I did think of the timer but i want access to my PC which is connected by Ethernet.
I want to go to bed and give the other wifi users a couple extra hours before its turned off otherwise i could disable the wifi only before i went to bed.

@das10 yes did it exactly as the manual shows but no luck.

@bro67 not to sure what you mean, if you can give me some times or exact boxes to check/uncheck i can try that.

Just an update for anyone that's interested.

The internal clock on the router was/is running one hour behind so all the tasks i set it didn't appear to be executing because of the time difference.
I only found out by accident as i left it running and i noticed the wifi had cut out the following day one hour before the time i had set.
I looked at the system time on the router and as you can see its one hour behind, so for now im setting the times an hour earlier.

Is there anyway to change the system time on the router as i couldn't see a way of setting it?
